Dr. Gremler's List of Pet Peeves*

They include the following student behaviors:

bulletComing to class late.  (This is disrupting and inconsiderate.)
bulletAttempting to turn in assignments late. (They are not accepted.)
bulletNot following directions in doing assignments. (You will end up with a lower grade.)
bulletAsking "did I miss anything important?" after not attending a class. (How should I respond?)
bulletAsking "will I miss anything important?" prior to not attending a class. (See above.)
bulletUsing contractions (e.g., can’t) in written assignments. (Not a good idea when writing.)
bulletTurning in written assignments with page-long paragraphs and/or no headings. (Such assignments are difficult to read and follow.)
bulletImproperly using it's and its.  (It's not appropriate; a firm would not want its employees misusing these words.)
bulletAsking "are we going to get out early today?" (I want you to get your money’s worth!)
bulletTurning in assignments held together by paper clips. (Use staples!)
bulletSending unidentified e-mails. (Always include your full name, course, and class section.)
bulletSending unidentified e-mails. (Always include your full name and class section.)
bulletGetting up and leaving class in the middle of a lecture. (This is very rude.)
bulletPacking up books, notebooks, etc. into bags before class is over. (This is also very rude.)

*These are student behaviors you probably want to avoid if you want to do well in this class.
