8/25/2005 - Since we will be using a new
edition of the textbook, it is likely you will come across some errors in the
text as you read it. For example, mis-spelled words, figures with wrong
numbers, etc. I am interested in identifying these errors, thus I am willing
to make a deal with you. Here's the deal: For every two errors a
student finds in the text that have not been previously identified by someone
else, I will award a bonus point. (Errors already found by other students will
not count.) A student may accumulate up to 8 bonus points for finding
errors over the course of the semester. To get credit for finding an
error, students should send an email message that specifies:
(1) your name,
(2) the exact page number(s) on which the error occurs,
(3) a word-by-word listing of the error, and
(4) what the appropriate correction should be (if clearly identifiable).
I will award credit in the order that the email messages are
received. As the list grows, I will collect the errors in a file and
post them on the course web site.
